Emergency First Aid at Work

Course Content

Upcoming Courses

This is a 1 day course.

An Appointed Person for the workplace in first aid legislation terms is someone who is responsible for keeping the first aid kit stocked, and for ensuring that an ambulance is called if needed in an emergency. An Appointed Person is not able to give any first aid treatment for which they have not been trained.

This course will have formal HSE Approval in its own right from 1st October 2009 following a change in legislation.

It will leave candidates confident in dealing with an emergency whilst awaiting the ambulance and give a basic understanding of the impact of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 upon the workplace.

Candidates must be physically fit enough to participate in the practical aspects of the course – including to kneel and simulate CPR on a manikin.

Candidates must be able to attend the entire course in order to gain certification (minimum contact time is 6-hours for HSE Accreditation).

Any hot topics which are either high risk or have occurred as incidents in your workplace may be added to make the course even more relevant to your needs and to enable your staff to react quickly to an incident which may well occur on your premises.
